Soil type
Soil should stay moist (but not wet/soaked!) during the Summer months when the plant is in full growing mode. During Winter time, when growth is slow or even nonexistent, let the soil dry out a little more ? though never completely. Lightweight, well-draining potting mix.
Watering instructions
Proper watering is a very important aspect of Alocasia polly and Alocasia amazonica care, so be sure to take some time to figure out a watering schedule that works for this plant. As the amount of water any plant needs depends on environmental factors such as the amount of light and the air humidity level, no watering schedule will be the same.

Room temperature
Alocasia plants prefer warm temperatures between 60-80F (15.6-26.7C). These plants become dormant with prolonged exposure to temperatures below 60F (15.6C) and may drop all of their leaves. Be sure to keep an Alocasia plant away from air conditioners and cold drafts. During warm summer months, an Alocasia can produce a new leaf every week and each new leaf may be twice the size of the previous leaf.
Room position
Find a spot with bright but indirect light. In rainforests the sun is blocked out by higher tree canopies, so this plant will not react well to direct light. This doesn?t mean you shouldn?t place your Alocasia near a window, though. Just find one that doesn?t receive the sun?s full force, especially not during mid-day. Use a high humidity. Bathrooms and a kitchen will do best.
Annual
No
Feeding instructions
Fertilize every two weeks from late March through September with a basic houseplant food diluted to 1/2 the recommended strength. Never fertilize during the winter. Too much plant food results in salts building up in the soil and burning the leaves.
