Allium Mont Blanc are tall, bulbous perennials. This variety grows to about 1m with broad, greyish-green, strap-shaped leaves that die back as the flowers open. Star-shaped flowers, white with a hint of green, are carried on a sturdy stem in dense, spherical heads in late spring and early summer. The faded flowerheads should hold up well in the border and are useful for dried flower arrangements.
Perfect for a sunny site, dotted in small groups among ornamental grasses, or as part of a Mediterranean scheme. Great for pots or the flower border in early Summer, alliums look best planted between medium-sized herbaceous plants, which help to mask the strap-like leaves, which fade by the time the flowers appear. Allium Mont Blanc provide a brilliant display in borders and also makes a superb cut flower.
