Competition Terms & Conditions

  1. The prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over, except employees of Homebase (the “Promoter”), their families, agents or any third party directly associated with the administration of the prize draw.

  2. The prize draw is free to enter, and no purchase is necessary.

  3. All entries must be submitted viahttps://www.homebase.co.uk/email-sign-up.listand only one entry per individual is permitted. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entries which it reasonably suspects originates from an existing entrant.

  4. The opening date for entries is 09:00 on 21st March 2024. The closing date of the prize draw is 23:59 on 27th March 2024. Entries received after this time will not be accepted.

  5. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.

  6. One winner will be chosen by random draw supervised by an independent person on 28th March 2024 ("Draw Date").

  7. The winner will receive - £200 Homebase gift card.

  8. The winner will be notified by email or telephone (using details provided at entry) on the draw date and must provide a postal address to claim their prize. If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within 10 days of the Promoter’s emails or calls, then the winner's prize will be forfeited and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.

  9. The prize will be sent to the winner by post within 10 days of being notified of their win.

  10. The prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

  11. The prize is supplied by HHGL Limited t/a Homebase. The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter's control makes it necessary to do so.

  12. The decision of the Promoter (under the supervision of the independent person where the decision relates to the random draw) regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

  13. The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will send the surname and county of major prize winners and, if applicable copies of their winning entries, to anyone who emails media.relations@homebase.co.uk or writes to Witan Gate House, 500-600 Witan Gate, Milton Keynes, MK9 1BA (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within [one] month after the closing date stated in condition 4. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

  14. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

  15. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so.

  16. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

  17. Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will only be processed as set out in the Promoter's https://www.homebase.co.uk/customer-services/resources/privacy- policy.list. See also condition 13 with regard to the announcement of winners.

  18. These terms and conditions and this promotion are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom.

Terms and Conditions



1. This Promotion is being run by HHGL Limited trading as Homebase of Witan Gate House, 500-600 Witan Gate, Milton Keynes, Bucks MK9 1BA with company registration number 00533033 (the "Promoter").


2. The Prize is a £250/250 EUR (two hundred and fifty pounds/euro) Homebase gift card (the "Prize") and there is one prize available.

a. The Prize must be claimed within one month of being notified

b. There is no cash alternative to the Prize.


3. To enter the Promotion, entrants must complete the following steps:

a. Follow @Homebase_UK

b. Enter your suggested name for the dinosaur in the comments box found on stories


4. The Promotion will be open for entries from Tuesday 12th September 2023 at 16:00 ("Opening Date") until Wednesday 13th September 2023 ("Closing Date").


5. The Promotion is open to residents of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland except:

a. employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, the Promoter's agencies or anyone professionally connected with the Promotion

b. any member of the immediate family or household of any person referred to in clause 5(a).


6. Multiple entries are permitted per person. Entries made on behalf of another person will be disqualified. Entries that are delivered late, incomplete, or otherwise not in accordance with these terms and conditions will not be accepted. Entries made through agents, third parties, organised groups or any entry duplication method will not be accepted.


7. By entering this Promotion you grant Homebase consent to use your image free of charge on their social media accounts for an indefinite period. You assign to the Promoter absolutely with full title guarantee all your right, title and interest in and to the copyright and all other rights (including without limitation all performers' property rights under Part II of the CDPA) throughout the world in all media and all renewals, revivals, reversions and extensions thereof (and thereafter, insofar as the Ambassador is able, in perpetuity) including by way of present assignment of future copyright.


8. Entrants under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian over 18 to enter the Promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of such consent and to refuse entry or to choose another winner if such proof is not provided when requested.


9. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are uploaded incorrectly or incomplete, regardless of cause (including but not limited to technical malfunction or software failure of any kind). Entries must be received before the Closing Date. Entries submitted after the Closing Date will be disqualified.


10. The one prize winner will be selected at random via an independent tool.


11. The Promoter or one of its agents will notify the winners directly via social media.

a. The winner will be told via direct message how to collect their Prize.


12. Winner will be notified within 10 days of the Closing Date.


13. If a winner doesn’t respond within 5 days of being notified, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the Prize to another entrant.


14. The Promoter is committed to protecting the privacy of entrants. Any information collected in connection with this Promotion will only be processed by the Promoter:

a. for the purpose of administering this promotion;

b. for the purpose of announcing the winner on our platform(s);

c. in compliance with the Promoter's privacy policy as amended from time to time.


15. Notwithstanding Clause 14 above, the winner’s forename and surname initial, will be available on request for one month after the prize has been claimed by sending an email to media.relations@homebase.co.uk. Entrants may object to the disclosure of this information by sending an email to media.relations@homebase.co.uk by 13/10/2023. The information shall nevertheless be made available to the Advertising Standards Authority upon request.


16. In the event of impediments or circumstances outside the Promoter’s control, the Promoter reserves the right to offer, at its discretion, a broadly similar prize of equal or higher value. No cash alternative will be available.


17. The Promoter's decision in all matters relating to the Promotion is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.


18. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit the Promoter's liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or subcontractors.


19. Subject to clause 19, the Promoter, its agents and sub-contractors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable for any loss or damage arising out of or occurring in connection with the Promotion.


20. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend or amend the Promotion if in the Promoter's sole opinion it is necessary to do so.


21. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or winner found to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions.


22. This Promotion is governed by the laws of England and Wales and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.


23. This Promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Meta (Facebook, and Instagram).
