Wisteria are large deciduous climbers known for their twining stems, dark green, pinnate leaves and drooping racemes (up to 30cm in length) of fragrant, white, pink, blue, mauve or lilac coloured flowers that open before the leaves. The clusters of flowers appear over lush foliage in late Spring through to Summer, but sometimes can have a second flush of flowers.
Range contains: Wisteria Alba, Amethyst, Black Dragon, Ikoyama Fuji, Ito koku Ryo, Lilac Rose, Macrobotrys, Premature, Prolific, Shiro Capitan Fuji, Showa Beni, sinensis
- Glossy, deciduous climber with scented pastel coloured flowers that range from white to soft pink, mauves and lilacs
- Great for screening a fence or wall, however it does require regular pruning and training to keep it in check and flowering well
- Looks amazing when in full bloom at the front of a house, draping over a pergola or scrambling along a sunny wall
- Ideally don't leave in pots longterm, wisteria in pots rarely are successful as the plants require a lot of water and nutrients
