Product Information

Allium Gladiator are a bulbous perennial. This variety can grow up to 1m in height, with long, strap-shaped grey-green leaves, dying back at flowering time. It produces stunning globes of dense rounded clusters of starry light purple flowers, to 20cm across, borne on strong, straight stems in early summer, followed by shapely seed heads. The faded flowerheads hold up well in the border and are useful for dried flower arrangements.
Perfect for a sunny site, dotted in small groups among ornamental grasses, or as part of a Mediterranean scheme. Alliums look best planted between medium-sized herbaceous plants, which help to mask the strap-like leaves, which fade by the time the flowers appear. Allium Gladiator provide a brilliant display in borders and also makes a superb cut flower.

  • Striking globe-shaped flower heads
  • Adds height to a border
  • Great for pollinators
  • Hardy; grows back year after year
