A vertical garden is a great way to bring some greenery into a small area like a patio or a balcony, without taking up too much ground space.
What you’ll need:
- Combi drill
- Hammer
- Screws
- Wall plugs
- Safety goggles
- Dust mask
- Pencil
- Spirit level
- Vertical garden set
- Compost
- Plants
-
Mark the wall
First measure the wall-mounted frame. Use a pencil and a spirit level to mark out where on the wall your frame will sit. Hold the frame against these markings and use the pencil to mark the placement for the screws. Use a spirit level to check these are level. -
Drill holes
Put on safety goggles and a dust mask and use a hammer drill to drill holes for your wall plugs. Hammer the wall plugs into the holes until they sit flush with the surface. -
Attach to the wall
To secure your vertical garden to the wall position the frame and screw your screws into the wall plugs. -
Position your baskets
Next place your hooks on the frame and position your baskets. Your vertical garden should now be ready to dress with flowers, herbs and a wide variety of plants. With their modular design you can hang multiple units next to one another to create a feature wall.
