Product Information

One plant supplied

Thyme (Thymus) is a compact evergreen shrub with small aromatic leaves. It’s easy to grow in a warm, sunny spot, in free-draining soil or containers. It’s also drought tolerant and needs little maintenance once settled in. In early summer, these low-growing shrubs are covered in clusters of tiny pink, mauve or white flowers that are rich in nectar, providing a feast for bees and other pollinating insects. Different varieties can be grown together to form a colourful collection.
Thyme is an attractive, essential for any herb garden, where it teams well with other Mediterranean herbs such as lavender and sage, which like similar growing conditions. It also makes an attractive, fragrant edging for sunny veg beds, Mediterranean-style borders and gravel garden.

  • Culinary herb usually used dried but can also be added fresh
  • Low maintenance and easy to care for
  • Great for pollinators
  • Drought tolerant

Additional Information

Cut back hard in early to mid-spring to retain a neat compact shape. Lift and divide large clumps in early spring and plant in sheltered areas. Once established this herb is drought resistant.
