Frequently asked questions

You can unblock a shower drain with a plunger, just put the suction cap of the plunger over the shower drain and produce an up and down movement with the handle. Alternatively, you can pour half a cup of baking soda down the drain, followed immediately by half a cup of distilled vinegar. The combination of both should work away the blockage. If this does not work and your shower drain is still blocked, please call in a professional.

To clean shower glass, use a shower spray and microfibre cloth, sometimes using a squeegee is more effective, but just see what works best for you. Generously spray your shower and just wipe it down until there are no streaks left.

Cleaning a bathroom shower drain is simple, just mix together one cup of vinegar and one cup of baking soda. First, pour boiling water down the drain to loosen it, then follow with the baking soda-vinegar mixture, wait 15 minutes and then rinse with more boiling water. This will clean any debris and keep it smelling fresh.

Cleaning grout in bathroom showers can be done several ways, use a grout brush with warm water and gently scrub the grout between your bathroom tiles in the shower. Add a bit of pressure to really get those stains out, if it doesn’t quite do the job, create a baking soda and vinegar solution. Mix together half a cup of water, half a cup of baking soda and half a cup of white vinegar, dip either a grout brush or clean toothbrush into the solution and scrub the grout in circular motions to lift the stains. Rinse the solution off with water once you’re finished. For more information visit our blog on how to clean a shower cubicle and tray.

How much water a shower uses all depends on the type of shower you’re using and how long you are using the shower for. However, on average a typical shower in the UK uses about 13 litres of water per minute.
