For me Orchid compost should have bark in it. This compost will not allow air circulation.

I re-potted all my orchids in this compost, they are now much happier in bigger pots.
Seems good quality.
I didn't use much though so perhaps could do with smaller bags.

This is a usable compost for orchids although it would not suit every species. However, for those that require an open compost of bark and coarse fibre (particularly in a basket), then this fits the bill. It could possibly be mixed with Sphagnum moss for a more water retentive composition. You also get a fair quantity for your money, although I don't use a great amount at any one time. If I did, then it would possibly work out a little on the expensive side.

Great product that I could not find in other stores. For use with the now popular orchids available in a lot of stores. Use it with the correct type of pot which must be clear or translucent and has a bottom lip to raise the pot base so that it doesnot touch the surface on which the pot is standing. It must also have holes for drainage.

I was given an orchid last year and needed to pot the plant in to a larger container. Knew nothing about orchids. Searched Homebase and found a compost I thought might be suitable and purchased it. Orchid now increasing in size and looks healthy. Great!

My Orchid has flourished with this product. I certainly don't have green fingers, but this compost means looking after my Orchid is a lot easier.
