Wisteria sinensis is a large deciduous climber. Twining stems support dark green, pinnate leaves and drooping racemes to 30cm in length of fragrant mauve or lilac-coloured flowers which open before the leaves appear. The flowers after often followed by velvety green seed-pods adding extra interest.
- Glossy, deciduous climber with scented pastel coloured flowers that range from white to soft pink, mauves and lilacs
- Vigorous and easy to grow
- After flowering the drooping seed pods will add extra interest
- Ideally don't leave in pots long-term, wisteria in pots rarely are successful as the plants require a lot of water and nutrients
