Rated 4 out of 5 by gadget Standard sized olive
Fairly hard to compress (which is normal for this type of olive). Useful in this small pack size, some outlets only sell in packs of 10.
Be aware though, if replacing shower fittings, make sure that the manufacturer does not use a non-standard sized olive, i.e. 15mm inner but non-standard outer size. This is a standard size which fits most applications.

I needed a couple of new olives when re-routing the pipe work for my outside tap. These fitted with the existing compression joints fine and saved me having to buy whole new joints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by S A Tisfied Anyone doing plumbing should always have some
In spite of the fact that most plumbing fittings have these supplied already, there can be the odd occasion when the supplied one gets lost or damaged. Having a small supply of these are then most useful in order not to stop you in your tracks. You may also need these when refitting old fittings as well, where for some reason the old olive is no good any more.
Those who like to be inventive in doing decorative craft work of various kinds may also find some of these useful.
Come to think of it, I dare say that a best man at a wedding might have one of these, of a suitable size, handy, just in case the wedding ring has been mislaid in the rush to get to the church :-)
