Product Information

  • Produces rich red berries full of flavour
  • Ready to harvest in 60 days
  • Ideal for pots beds or baskets

Selected for its exceptional flavour and appearance, Strawberry ‘Malling Centenary’ is an easily cultivated variety that yields flavourful, rich red berries in just 60 days! If you only have space for one strawberry plant this season, this should be it! Perfectly suited for displaying in garden patio containers or kitchen gardens.
These plants reach a height of 30cm (12in) and spread to 50cm (20in). Plant your Strawberry ‘Malling Centenary’ plants in autumn or late spring in a sunny, sheltered location. Consider growing strawberry plants in hanging baskets or purpose-built strawberry planters for the patio. Alternatively, plant in well-manured, free-draining soil.
Space strawberry runners 45cm (18”) apart in rows spaced 75cm (30”) apart. Spread out the roots and position them in the soil so that the crown of the plant is just above the surface. Avoid planting too deeply to prevent rotting. When growing strawberry plants in baskets and containers, feed them every two weeks. Water strawberries regularly throughout the growing season and weed regularly between rows.
From early summer, remove any runners that appear, as they will diminish the plant's vigour. Protect developing fruit from slugs and snails by surrounding each plant with straw. Netting over the plants will also protect the crop from birds. After cropping, the netting and straw can be removed to improve air circulation around the plant. Mulch strawberry plants with well-rotted manure in spring.
Product Specifications: Position: Full Sun. Height: up to 30cm (12in). Spread: up to 50cm (20in).
