In spring, small white flowers appear, followed by vibrant red berries in the autumn (when planted near a male holly). The leaves boast a striking contrast of deep blue-green on top and lighter green underneath, and are less prickly than other holly varieties. These slow-growing plants reach 150cm in height and 70cm in width, their dense heads ideal for topiary. Extremely hardy, they withstand temperatures as low as -27°C and require only annual pruning.
