Plant your mint in any well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, spacing plants 30cm (12in) apart. Container growing is a great way to manage its vigorous growth. Once established, mint needs minimal aftercare. Harvest leaves before flowering and use fresh, dried, or frozen. Cut back old stems in autumn and repot container-grown plants annually in spring. Some parts of the flowers are edible.
