Product Information

  • Highly resistant to clubroot disease
  • Heavy cropping varieties ideal for long harvest
  • Thrives in rich, well-drained soil

This brassica collection is a must-have for any vegetable garden, offering a bountiful harvest from July to October. Developed through 18 years of traditional breeding, these heavy-cropping varieties include Brussels Sprout ‘Crispus F1’, Cabbage ‘Kilaton F1’, Calabrese ‘Komodo F1’, and Cauliflower ‘Clapton F1’.
For optimal growth, plant in firm, rich, fertile, and well-drained soil, ideally in a sunny or semi-shaded location. A site previously used for beans or peas is particularly suitable. Prepare the soil in early spring by incorporating plenty of well-rotted farmyard manure to enhance its structure and fertility. On acidic soils, apply lime to reduce acidity and minimise the risk of clubroot.
Space the brassica plants 60cm (24”) apart and protect them with netting or fleece to prevent damage from birds and insects. Water thoroughly after planting and regularly thereafter, ensuring the plants do not dry out, which can hinder their development. Hoe regularly between plants to control weeds and expose insect larvae. To prevent sun scorch, fold a leaf over developing cauliflower curds.
Harvesting can begin from August onwards, depending on the specific variety.
