Verbena bonariensis is the perfect choice for long-lasting summer blooms, guaranteed to draw in bees and butterflies in droves! Its tightly packed florets create radiant lavender flower heads that seem to float above stiff, upright, branching stems, providing an elegant splash of colour. This perennial brings an architectural touch to the back of herbaceous borders and blends beautifully with grasses to create a tranquil planting scheme, looking its best when planted en masse.
These garden-ready plants are specially selected from the nursery for their garden performance. Delivered 'green' before flowering (though some varieties may show a few blooms), the plants establish quickly, focusing their energy on developing stronger roots for abundant flowers throughout the season.
Pot up Verbena bonariensis plants and nurture them in frost-free conditions, ready for transplanting into borders later. Once all frost risk has passed and the plants are well-grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant outdoors in a sheltered spot, in any moist, well-drained soil in full sun.
