It has layers of peony-like blooms from a dazzling mix of double tulips, bursting in rich reds, peach, orange, pink and coppery shades that’ll extend your tulip season into May and transform beds, borders and patio containers with impressive colour and texture; strong stems and unique fringed petals add extra interest while the collection thrives in sunny, sheltered spots and rewards with large, late-flowering displays. How to Grow: Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn in moist, well-drained soil, avoiding particularly wet areas. Choose a sunny position sheltered from strong winds. Plant bulbs approximately 15cm deep and 13cm apart. Avoid shallow planting as tulips require a period of winter cold to flower successfully in spring. After flowering, deadhead the faded flowers and allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in summer.
