Enjoy these delicious tomatoes, weighing around 15g, starting from mid-summer through to mid-autumn. For greenhouse cultivation, sow seeds between February and March. For outdoor planting, the optimal sowing period is from March to April. Place seeds on the surface of a quality, free-draining seed sowing mix and cover lightly with compost or vermiculite. Position seed trays in a propagator, maintaining a stable temperature of approximately 15-20°C until germination, which takes 7-14 days. Once the seedlings develop two true leaves, transplant them into individual pots and maintain a minimum temperature of 15°C. In a heated greenhouse, tomatoes can be transplanted at the end of May or when the first flowers appear. Use three plants per growbag, one per 10-inch pot, or plant directly into greenhouse soil. When growing outdoors, wait until all frost risks have passed before transplanting, gradually acclimatising the plants over 7-10 days, and planting them when they reach 20cm tall. Select a sheltered site in full sun on fertile, consistently moist, well-drained soil, spacing plants 60cm apart. Support each plant with a cane and tie the main stem with soft twine. Regular watering is necessary to keep the compost evenly moist, and a high-potash plant food should be applied regularly once the first truss of fruit has formed.
