Product Information

  • Supplied as a packet containing 12 seeds
  • Unique green and white stripes create visual interest
  • Strong resistance to Cucumber mosaic virus

Stand out from the crowd with striking green and white striped marrows from the Thompson and Morgan Tiger Cross Marrow F1 Hybrid Seeds that thrive from May to October, offering strong resistance to Cucumber mosaic virus and generous yields for your garden or allotment. You'll enjoy reliable crops whether you pick them fresh or store them for later, and the seeds come with clear growing and care instructions to help you get started. Perfect for full sun positions, these marrows grow up to 45cm high and 90cm across, loved by pollinating insects and ideal for high-yield gardens. Sow marrow seed indoors from April to May for transplanting later on, or direct sow outdoors from late May to June. Prepare the soil in early spring by adding plenty of well-rotted farmyard manure to improve its structure and fertility. Indoors, sow seed at a depth of 2.5cm into individual 7.5cm pots of free-draining, seed-sowing compost. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a plastic bag at a temperature of 20-25°C (68-77F) until germination, which takes five to seven days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination. Once germinated, grow marrows on in cooler conditions until all risk of frost has passed and marrow plants are large enough to be transplanted. Gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over seven to ten days before planting marrows outdoors in rich, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun at a distance of 90cm apart. Cover with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects. When growing marrows, a thick mulch of organic matter spread around the plants will help to conserve moisture at the roots. Alternatively, direct sow marrows outdoors at a depth of 2.5cm and a distance of 90cm apart. Sow two seeds per hole and thin out the weakest seedling per station after germination. Product Specifications: Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 45cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 90cm when fully established. Delivered with growing and care instructions.
