Product Information

  • Stunning ruby-red blooms, great for cut flowers
  • Attracts butterflies and children to the garden
  • Hardy annual, perfect for beds, borders, or pots

Behold the 'Ruby Sunset' Sunflower: a hardy annual that brings a blaze of unique colour to your garden. Expect 5-15 medium-sized blooms per stem, each one a sunset captured in petals, especially if pinched out. Reaching a height of 1-1.5 metres, this medium-to-tall variety is perfect for adding drama to beds and borders, or for cutting and bringing indoors.
Attract butterflies to your garden with these daisy-like flowers, boasting brightly coloured petals that children adore. Both petals and seeds can be used to add a touch of colour and flavour to salads and cakes. Prefers full sun.
For blooms from July to September, sow under glass from March to April, or directly outdoors from April to June. Sow thinly into finely raked, moist, warm, weed-free soil, 13mm deep, and rake in lightly (germination 7-21 days). Thin seedlings in stages to a final spacing of 30-45cm, and provide support as they develop. Alternatively, sow indoors in April, carefully acclimatise plants to outside conditions, and plant out in mid-late May.
This seed has undergone rigorous testing to ensure high germination rates. Store in a cool, dry place prior to use. Contains 1 x 20 Seeds Pack.
