Gasana' strawberries offer a delightful combination of beauty and flavour, showcasing vibrant pink, double flowers alongside juicy, sweet fruit. These ornamental strawberry plants retain their showy blooms for longer than single-flowered types, making them a striking addition to both flower beds and vegetable gardens.
Forming neat mounds of dark green foliage with fewer runners, 'Gasana' directs its energy into producing abundant, delicious crops. Ideal for sunny borders, patio pots, or window boxes. Reaching a height of 20cm (8") and spreading to 30cm (12").
Plant in autumn or late spring in a sheltered, sunny position in well-manured, free-draining soil. Space plants 45cm (18") apart in rows 75cm (30") apart. Spread out their roots and place them in the soil at a level where the crown of the plant is just poking above the surface to prevent rotting. Alternatively, grow in hanging baskets or specially designed strawberry planters on the patio.
