Sempervivum 'Mixed', or Houseleeks, are captivating evergreen succulents renowned for their ease of growth and stunning array of colours. These hardy perennials form dense rosettes of foliage, creating a living carpet effect in your garden. The rosettes come in various forms and colours, some adorned with delicate, spidery webbing.
In summer, mature rosettes may produce panicles of star-shaped flowers, adding to their charm. While individual rosettes fade after flowering, they readily produce offsets, ensuring a continuous display.
Perfect for low-maintenance gardens, Sempervivums are extremely drought-tolerant once established. They thrive in rockeries, wall crevices, and alpine troughs, and also make excellent houseplants, brightening any windowsill indoors. Reaching a height of 8cm (3") and spreading to 30cm (12"), they require sharply drained, gritty soil in full sun. For hairy species, protection from cold, wet conditions is beneficial.
