A dazzling display of colour and texture, Sedum 'Atlantis' is a low-growing, hardy perennial ideal for ground cover in rockeries and gravel gardens. Awarded RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year in 2019, this variety boasts fleshy, moss-green leaves with delicately serrated edges and creamy-yellow borders, providing vibrant foliage from summer through autumn. Cherry-red leaf buds give rise to new growth, while pale-yellow blooms emerge from pink buds in July to September, attracting butterflies and other pollinating insects to its flowers.
Thriving in full sun or partial shade, this drought-tolerant sedum forms a broad cushion of colourful foliage, reaching a height of up to 15cm and spreading up to 45cm at maturity. For optimal growth, plant in fertile, well-drained, non-acidic soil enriched with well-rotted manure or garden compost. Water regularly during hot, dry periods until established. Cut back old stems and foliage after flowering to maintain shape. Once fully established, Sedum is drought-tolerant.
Position: Full Sun, Sun or Semi-Shade.
Flowering period: July to September.
Caution: All parts are harmful if eaten.
