The Field Poppy, a poignant symbol of remembrance, brings a splash of vibrant scarlet to your garden while supporting vital pollinators. Effortlessly charming, the Flanders Poppy thrives with minimal care, whether nestled in borders or brightening up pots. Incredibly easy to grow, simply sow in a sunny location for a breathtaking summer display. Highly attractive to bees and other beneficial insects, these poppies are a welcome addition to any wildlife-friendly garden. For a culinary twist, try sprinkling the seeds on bread, cakes and biscuits.
Growing Information: Easy to grow – sow directly outdoors from March to May.
Sowing Information: Sow the seed thinly, 3mm (¼") deep, directly into finely raked, moist, warm, weed-free soil where the plants are to flower. Germination typically takes 10-14 days. As the seedlings develop, thin them gradually to achieve a final spacing of 15cm (6"), removing any competing weeds. Remove dead flower heads as they appear. Poppies will grow readily in most garden soils in a sunny position.
