For optimal growth, maintain average room temperatures between 18°C (65°F) and 24°C (75°F), ensuring it never drops below 12°C (55°F). Position the plant in bright, indirect light, avoiding direct sunlight to preserve the vibrancy and variegation of the leaves; insufficient light may cause the foliage to revert to a darker green. Keep away from cold draughts and radiators.
Water regularly, allowing the top half of the compost to dry out between waterings, and ensure the plant never sits in standing water. During the active growing season, from March to September, feed regularly.
The Philodendron thrives in humid conditions. Increase humidity by placing the plant on a tray filled with pebbles and water, or mist the foliage daily with a fine spray.
