Bring a touch of the exotic indoors with the Pachira Aquatica, a fast-growing tree boasting distinctive palmate leaves. Each leaf divides into five glossy leaflets, creating an attractive, full crown atop its signature plaited, woody stem. Despite its sophisticated appearance, this houseplant is remarkably easy to care for.
For optimal growth, position in a warm, bright location, shielding it from strong, direct sunlight. Its tolerance of fluorescent lighting makes it an excellent choice for the office, as well as a beautiful focal point for conservatories or any well-lit room at home. Grow in a bright or lightly shaded spot, away from the scorch of hot, direct sunlight.
The Pachira Aquatica thrives in average temperatures between 16-24°C (60-75°F) but can withstand occasional dips to a minimum of 12°C (53°F). Keep it away from radiators and cold draughts. Water and feed regularly from March to September during its active growth period, ensuring the pot drains thoroughly afterwards.
This plant appreciates a humid environment; place it on a pebble-filled tray with water. As the water evaporates, it will naturally increase the humidity around the plant.
