Introduce a dazzling array of summer colour with this Petunia mix, ideal for baskets, beds, and borders. These trailing petunias promise non-stop flowering throughout the summer, right up to the first frosts. While specific varieties cannot be requested, rest assured that the selection sent will not disappoint. Expect a height of up to 25cm (10”) and a spread of up to 60cm (24”).
Upon arrival, pot up the petunia plants and nurture them in warm, frost-free conditions, ready for transplanting later. Encourage branching and bushier growth by pinching out the growing tip of each stem – this will result in an abundance of flowers. Once all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Then, transplant them into baskets, window boxes, and containers filled with well-drained soil, ensuring they are placed in full sun.
Regular feeding and watering are essential, especially during hot, dry spells. To encourage continuous blooms throughout the summer, regularly deadhead the spent flowers.
