Thompson and Morgan Nasturtium Purple Emperor Seeds

Bring life and beauty to your space with the Thompson and Morgan Nasturtium Purple Emperor Seeds. It is a half-hardy annual that showcases stunning dusky-rose coloured flowers accented with yellow splashes in their throats. Beginning as dark burgundy buds, these flowers fade to create an appealing vintage aesthetic. This Indian cress features a spreading and trailing growth habit, making it perfect for garden borders or patio pots where it can elegantly cascade down the sides. It reaches a height of 30cm and a spread of 30cm when fully established. The peppery leaves and vibrant flowers add a zesty kick to salads, reminiscent of rocket, while the leaves can be used to create a flavourful pesto. Additionally, the seed pods can be harvested to make poor man’s capers. For optimal growth, sow nasturtium seeds directly outdoors from March to May in a sunny spot with well-drained soil that has been finely raked. Space seeds thinly, placing them at a depth of 20mm in drills separated by 30cm. Regular watering is essential, particularly during dry spells, and germination typically occurs within 7 to 12 days. Once seedlings are robust enough to handle, thin them to a distance of 30cm apart. Supplied as one packet of Nasturtium Purple Emperor mix seeds, it also comes with growing and care instructions. Images provided are intended as a guide for expected results, and variability may occur based on growing conditions and seasonal changes. The pack contains approximately 25 seeds.
