Product Information

  • Cascading fiery blooms with variegated foliage
  • Ideal for hanging baskets and window boxes
  • Adds peppery flavour to salads and canapes

Ignite your garden with Nasturtium Firebird! This easy-to-grow annual produces a stunning cascade of fiery blooms, complemented by unusual variegated foliage. Perfect for hanging baskets, window boxes, and containers, it'll add a vibrant touch to your patio from June to September. But that's not all – the peppery leaves and colourful petals are delicious additions to salads, and the unripe seeds make fantastic capers, delightful with cream cheese or butter on canapés.
Sow directly outdoors from March to May in a sunny spot with well-drained soil, prepared to a fine tilth. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of 20mm (¾ inch), 30cm (12 inches) apart, covering with the same depth of soil. Water regularly, especially in dry spells. Germination takes 7-12 days. Thin seedlings to 30cm (12 inches) apart once large enough to handle. Alternatively, start indoors at 15-25°C (59-77°F), transplanting outdoors after the last frost.
Reaches up to 25cm in height and spreads to 40cm. Supplied as a packet of approximately 30 seeds. Flowering period: June to September. Images are for guidance only; results may vary depending on growing conditions. Seasonal variations may also affect the appearance of the product.
