Product Information

  • Compact habit suits kitchen gardens and small spaces
  • Versatile crops harvestable as courgettes or mature marrows
  • Pack contains approximately 20 seeds

Discover the secret to lush greenery with the Thompson and Morgan Marrow Green Bush 4 Seeds. It is a highly popular and adaptable vegetable plant known for its compact growth and impressive yield. This variety produces long, dark green fruits that can be harvested early as courgettes or allowed to grow to maturity as marrows. They are incredibly versatile and suitable for various culinary applications, such as stuffing, baking, or boiling. To cultivate marrows, sow the seeds indoors from April to May for later transplanting, or direct sow them outdoors from late May to June. Enhance soil quality in early spring by incorporating ample well-rotted farmyard manure to boost its structure and fertility. When starting seeds indoors, plant them at a depth of 2.5cm (1 inch) in individual 7.5cm (3 inch) pots filled with free-draining seed-sowing compost. Create a warm environment by using a propagator or sealing the container in a plastic bag at a temperature between 20-25°C (68-77°F) until germination, which typically occurs in 5-7 days. Once the seeds have sprouted, allow them to grow in cooler conditions until all risk of frost has passed and the plants are sufficiently large for transplanting. Gradually acclimate the plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days before planting them in rich, fertile, well-drained soil in full sunlight, spaced 90cm (36 inches) apart. Alternatively, you can directly sow the seeds outdoors at a depth of 2.5cm (1 inch), maintaining the same spacing of 90cm (36 inches) apart. Place two seeds in each hole and thin out to keep the strongest seedling after germination. Ideal for kitchen gardens, this half-hardy variety thrives in full sun, reaching a height of up to 45cm and a spread of up to 90cm. Marrow 'Green Bush' is supplied in a packet containing 20 seeds, along with detailed growing and care instructions. Please note that images are provided to illustrate expected results from mature plants, and variations may occur based on differing growing conditions. The pack contains approximately 20 seeds.
