Add a touch of elegance to your garden with the Lily ‘Pretty Woman’. This variety produces large, pure white blooms on tall stems, creating a striking display year after year in beds, borders and containers. Each flower boasts a lovely delicate scent that fills the garden, adding to its charm.
Oriental lilies thrive in moist, free-draining, neutral to acid soil that is rich in organic matter. Before planting, enrich the soil with plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost. When growing lilies in containers, use a loam-based compost. Plant lily bulbs approximately three times their own height deep and 15cm (6") apart in a sheltered, sunny spot.
Feed and water oriental lily bulbs regularly throughout the growing season, keeping them consistently moist. When cutting flowers for indoor arrangements, leave a third of the stem intact to feed the bulb for the following year. Reduce watering and move container-grown lilies to a cool, frost-free position over winter. Apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost in spring. Divide and repot container-grown lilies into fresh compost every other year.
