Product Information

  • Fragrant bee-friendly flowers
  • Aromatic evergreen silver foliage
  • Perfect for creating fragrant low-growing hedges

Cultivate your own intensely fragrant English Lavender with this superb garden-ready plant. 'Munstead' Lavender is a neat, dwarf variety renowned for its abundant display of deep purple-blue flowers. These hardy shrubs are incredibly versatile, ideal for creating low hedges, providing cut flowers, or for drying to preserve their scent. For your convenience, this plant arrives complete with a stylish Dark Grey planter, allowing you to plant immediately.
Culinary enthusiasts take note: Some parts of these flowers are edible. For optimal growth, plant English lavender in well-draining soil, selecting a sunny location. Lavender dislikes overly wet conditions, particularly during the winter months. Improve heavy soils by incorporating coarse grit or sharp sand before planting. When planting English lavender in large patio containers, use a free-draining soil-based compost, such as John Innes No. 3.
To encourage a bushy growth habit, prune lavender plants after planting. Water regularly throughout the summer until plants are fully established. Once established, lavender exhibits reasonable drought tolerance. Immediately after flowering, prune English lavender back to within 2cm (1") of the previous year's growth to maintain a compact, well-shaped plant.
