- Fragrant bee-friendly flowers
- Aromatic evergreen silver foliage
- Perfect for creating fragrant low-growing hedges
Bring the delightful fragrance of English Lavender to your garden with Lavender ‘Munstead’. This dwarf variety forms a neat, compact shrub, producing masses of deep purple-blue blooms. Perfectly suited for hedging, drying, or using as cut flowers, these hardy plants are incredibly versatile. Your plants are conveniently delivered with a ‘Sabina’ Dark Grey planter, ready for immediate planting.
Culinary note: Parts of these flowers are edible. For optimal growth, plant English lavender in well-draining soil in a sunny location. Lavender dislikes wet conditions, particularly in winter, so improve heavy soils by incorporating coarse grit or sharp sand before planting. When planting in patio containers, use a well-drained, soil-based compost like John Innes No. 3.
Prune after planting to encourage a bushy habit and water regularly throughout the summer until established. Once established, Lavender ‘Munstead’ is reasonably drought-tolerant. To maintain a compact shape, prune back to within 2cm (1") of the previous year's growth immediately after flowering.
