- Deep purple blooms and strong fragrance
- Attracts bees and butterflies in summer
- Compact, great for pots or low hedging
Prized for its strong fragrance and rich purple blooms, Lavender Hidcote is a popular English Lavender variety with a bushy, compact habit. Its neat, upright stems and excellent, long-standing and reliable garden performance make it a smart-looking and dependable choice. Flourishing in sunny spots and dry conditions, this variety's compact size suits patio containers, borders, or fragrant low hedges. From mid-summer onwards, its deep-purple flowers are produced continuously and attract bees and butterflies. Lavender Hidcote complements any garden style, from contemporary to traditional cottage or wildlife gardens. Ideal for cut flowers, they boast a long vase life and slow-fading colour, also making them perfect for drying. Plant in free-draining soil in full sun. Lavenders dislike wet ground, particularly during winter. Improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand prior to planting. When using patio containers, opt for well-drained, soil-based compost. Prune after planting to encourage bushy growth. Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 60cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 75cm when fully established. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary the results.
