- Fragrant lilac-mauve summer blooms
- Drought tolerant, low maintenance
- Ideal for hedging and sunny spots
Munstead' Lavender is a much-loved, traditional English Lavender, celebrated for its reliable garden performance, drought tolerance and all-round hardiness, plus its stunning display of colour and scent. This variety forms a compact, bushy plant with relatively long flowering stalks in summer, giving it a relaxed appearance. It establishes quickly, making it ideal for low hedges, edging paths, filling spaces at the front of sunny borders or for large patio pots. The aromatic, silver-grey, evergreen foliage provides year-round structure, colour and fragrance. Expect a spectacular show of fragrant, lilac-mauve flowers in summer, a magnet for bees and butterflies. These fragrant blooms are suitable for fresh-cut flower arrangements and dry well. Easy to grow, drought-tolerant and very low maintenance, it simply requires a sunny location with well-drained soil. Plant these established, 1-litre potted plants directly outdoors in autumn or spring. Lavenders dislike wet ground, especially during the winter months. Improve heavy soils by incorporating coarse grit or sharp sand before planting. Water regularly throughout the summer until the lavender plants are fully established. Once established, they are reasonably drought tolerant. Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 45cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 60cm when fully established. Supplied as 2 x Lavender 'Munstead' Plants in 1 Litre Pots. The images shown are for guidance only and illustrate the expected results from mature plants. Different growing conditions may produce varying results. Images are for illustration purposes and may vary due to seasonal changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
