Munstead' Lavender is a classic English Lavender, prized for its reliable garden performance, resilience, and drought tolerance, alongside its stunning display of colour and fragrance. This variety presents compact, bushy silver-grey foliage, complemented by fairly long flowering stalks in summer, creating a relaxed aesthetic. Establishing quickly, it's ideal as low hedging, for edging pathways, or for filling spaces at the front of large, sunny borders and large patio containers.
Providing year-round interest, the aromatic, evergreen foliage adds structure, colour and fragrance. In summer, expect a spectacular display of fragrant lilac-mauve flowers, irresistible to bees and butterflies. These fragrant blooms are suitable as fresh-cut flowers and dry well.
Easy to care for, drought-tolerant, and low-maintenance, it thrives in a sunny spot with free-draining soil. Plant these established, 1L potted plants directly outdoors in autumn or spring. Lavender dislikes wet ground, especially in winter; improve heavy soil by incorporating coarse grit or sharp sand before planting. Water regularly in summer until established; once established, it's reasonably drought-tolerant.
