- Deciduous climber ideal for small growing spaces
- Produces Kiwi fruits rich in vitamin C
- Red tipped leaves and white flowers in the summer
Jenny' Kiwi is a hardy, self-fertile variety, perfect if you only have space for one of these climbers. A striking garden feature with its red-tipped, heart-shaped foliage and summer clusters of small white flowers. Harvest the delicious, sweet, egg-shaped fruit straight from your garden in August and September. Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot in any fertile, well-drained soil, incorporating plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole before planting. Firm the plant in place, and water generously. Provide support for the twining stems with wires strung between sturdy posts, training them as an espalier. Water and feed regularly until established, especially during hot, dry periods. Train the stems onto their supports. In autumn, mulch the base of the plant with well-rotted manure or compost. Prune in winter.
