- Blooms emerge pure white and change to pink
- Hardy down to -20°C
- Highly attractive to pollinators
Hydrangea paniculata ‘Vanille Fraise’ is a deciduous shrub boasting stunning blooms that transition from pure white to a rich raspberry pink throughout the season. Selected from 10,000 trial plants for its exceptional garden performance, this variety thrives even in challenging north-facing locations, exhibiting remarkable hardiness down to -20°C. It prefers sunny or partially shaded positions, sheltered from harsh winds. Plant in fertile, moist, non-alkaline soil, enriched with well-rotted manure or compost before planting. Water consistently until established. Leave spent flower heads in place until spring to protect developing buds from frost. Prune after flowering, trimming stems to manage size and shape. Hard pruning of older stems to a few buds at ground level is also possible, encouraging larger blooms. After pruning, mulch with well-rotted manure or compost. Note: All parts of the plant are stomach irritants, and the foliage may cause skin allergies. Ideal for cut flower gardens, as a specimen plant, or in woodland settings. Reaches a height and spread of up to 180cm (70.9in). Easy to grow and maintain.
