Hydrangea serrata 'Euphoria Pink' is a spectacular new introduction and RHS Chelsea Plant of the Year 2023 Runner-Up. This compact deciduous shrub boasts stunning tri-colour foliage and vibrant lace cap blooms – a rare combination in a single plant. Its eye-catching leaves are splashed with silvery green and outlined in bold white, with soft pink blushes in spring. These cool-toned leaves form the perfect backdrop to the brilliant two-tone pink blooms, which emerge from pale pink buds and open into ruby-pink florets with pale centres. Perfect for containers, borders, or woodland gardens, this shrub delivers colour from early spring through to late summer. At just 60cm (24in) high and wide, it's a brilliant low-maintenance option for smaller gardens. Plant in moist, fertile soil in sun or semi-shade, sheltered from cold winds. Enrich planting areas with well-rotted compost or manure. Water regularly until established and keep moist in dry spells. Leave old blooms over winter to protect new buds, pruning them back in spring to the first pair of healthy buds. Once mature, remove a few old stems each year to encourage new growth and mulch well after pruning. Caution: Contact with foliage may irritate skin and eyes. All parts are harmful if eaten.
