- Grows up to 10m tall and spreads up to 3m
- Features lacy white blooms with yellow leaves
- Perfect for shady, north-facing walls
Hydrangea petiolaris is an elegant climber, ideal for brightening shady, north-facing walls that rarely see the sun. This shade-loving Hydrangea bears lacy white summer blooms that contrast beautifully against dark green foliage. As autumn approaches, heart-shaped leaves transform to a buttery yellow shade, illuminating even the darkest corners. While initially slow to get going, this superb RHS AGM variety quickly scales walls and fences using its clinging aerial roots once established. It thrives in a sunny, semi-shaded, or fully shaded position, sheltered from cold, drying winds. Plant in rich, fertile, moist soil, improved with plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Ideal for growing against walls and fences where it clings and supports itself via aerial roots. Water regularly until established. Prune immediately after flowering to restrict growth to the available space and improve plant shape. Apply a spring mulch of well-rotted manure or compost around the base. Please note: foliage contact may irritate skin and eyes; all parts are harmful if ingested. Position: Sun or Partial Shade. Height: Up to 10m. Spread: Up to 3m. Supplied in a 2 Litre Nursery Pot. Delivered with growing and care instructions.
