This elegant climbing Hydrangea boasts lacy white summer blooms that beautifully offset its deciduous dark green foliage. As autumn nears, the handsome, heart-shaped leaves transform into a lovely buttery yellow, illuminating even the darkest corners of your garden.
Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding garden performance, Hydrangea Petiolaris, although initially slow to get going, will rapidly scale walls and fences using its self-clinging aerial roots once established. Reaching a height of 10m and spread of 3m, this Hydrangea thrives in sunny, semi-shaded, or fully shaded locations, provided it's sheltered from cold, drying winds.
Plant in any rich, fertile, moist soil, improving it beforehand with plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost, thoroughly mixed in. Grow Hydrangea Petiolaris against walls and fences where it can naturally cling and support itself via aerial roots.
