- Colour-changing pink and white blooms
- Ideal for borders, patios, or cottage style
- Hardy shrub with easy yearly pruning
A garden classic, Hydrangeas are celebrated for their reliability and the glorious display of colour-changing flowers they offer. This hardy, deciduous shrub bursts into life from July through September, showcasing creamy white and pink hues. Ideal for adding charm to patio containers, garden borders, or creating a quintessential cottage garden scheme. Reaching a height and spread of 200cm (78in).
Hydrangea paniculata thrives in a sunny or semi-shaded position, sheltered from cold, drying winds. Plant in fertile, moist, non-alkaline soil, enriched with well-rotted manure or garden compost worked in thoroughly. Water regularly until established. To protect delicate buds from frost damage, leave the faded flower heads until new growth appears in spring. Prune after flowering to control size and enhance the plant's shape. Hard pruning of the oldest stems can be tolerated, encouraging larger blooms. After pruning, mulch with well-rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant.
Caution: May irritate skin and eyes; harmful if ingested.
