- Elegant white lacy summer blooms
- Autumn leaves turn buttery yellow
- Self-clinging climber for walls and fences
Adorn your outdoor space with Hydrangea petiolaris, a self-clinging climber displaying delicate, lacy white summer blooms that beautifully contrast with its deep green foliage. As autumn arrives, the leaves transform into a vibrant buttery yellow, illuminating any shady corner of the garden. While it may take a little time to establish, once settled, this vigorous climber will quickly scale walls and fences.
This Hydrangea thrives in sunny, semi-shaded, or fully shaded locations, provided it's sheltered from cold, drying winds. Plant in rich, fertile, moist soil, enriched before planting with plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost, thoroughly mixed in. Ideal for growing against walls and fences, where it will cling and support itself using aerial roots. Water regularly until fully established.
Prune immediately after flowering to control growth and enhance the plant's shape. In spring, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or compost around the base.
Please note: Contact with Hydrangea foliage may cause skin and eye irritation, and all parts are harmful if ingested.
