Product Information

  • Sunday roast essential
  • Easy to grow with little care needed
  • Best grown in pots to control spread

Enjoy the distinct flavour of home-grown Horseradish with these easy-to-grow roots, promising abundant growth and increasing harvests each year. Horseradish establishes quickly, requiring minimal upkeep. For optimal results, cultivate in a pot or container due to its potentially invasive nature. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil, ensuring full sun exposure.
Plant horseradish roots (thongs) in spring or autumn, 30cm (12") deep at a 45° angle. Cover well with soil and water generously after planting. Alternatively, grow in large containers to control its vigorous growth, using a quality compost and position in full sun.
While horseradish needs little care, water during dry spells. Harvest roots in autumn by lifting the entire root with a garden fork. Store harvested horseradish in a paper bag in the fridge for up to a week.
Caution: May cause skin and eye irritation.
