Growing instructions: Choose a sunny, well-drained position, ideally south-facing, with sturdy support such as horizontal wires attached to posts or a warm wall. Plant vines 2m apart, incorporating well-rotted manure or compost into the soil. Reduce the newly planted vine to the height of the lowest support wire and cut side shoots to one bud, tying the main stem to the support. Water only during dry periods and apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or compost in spring to retain moisture. Train vines and prune annually. Do not allow fruit until the third summer. Summer pruning involves pinching side branches and reducing lateral shoots; winter pruning reduces the main stem and trims side shoots. In the third summer, allow 2 bunches per side branch, removing excess lateral growth. Harvest grapes from early October when fully ripe.
