This hardy fuchsia boasts flamingo-pink flowers atop a clear single stem and rounded head of foliage. Trained as a standard, this compact variety makes a fabulous formal patio plant, yet it is equally at home in garden borders. Showy and reliable, Fuchsia 'Elma' will enhance your garden with its amazing blooms from June to October each year.
Like all single-flowered fuchsias, this variety attracts pollinating insects to your garden. Some parts of these flowers are edible. The sweet-tasting petals can be used on salads or pancakes, or crystallised for cake decorations.
Reaching a height of up to 90cm and spread of up to 50cm, plant hardy fuchsias into light, well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded location. When planting in containers, use a quality, well-drained compost such as John Innes No.3. Pinch out the growing tips of your fuchsia plants once to encourage bushier growth and more abundant flowers.
