Product Information

  • Produces yellow lantern shaped blooms
  • Silky seed heads linger into winter
  • Thrives in sun or semi shade with well drained soil

Adorn walls, trellises, or arches with this glorious Clematis climber. It showcases a profusion of yellow, lantern-shaped blooms that dangle gracefully from extended stalks. Following the floral display, large, silky seed heads emerge and linger throughout winter, offering nesting materials for local birds.
For optimal growth, situate your clematis in a sunny or partially shaded spot, embedding it deeply within moist, fertile, and well-drained soil. Position the crown of the rootball approximately 7.5cm beneath the soil's surface to encourage the development of new shoots from the plant's base. Clematis thrives best in soil that is neither excessively wet nor excessively dry; enrich such soils with generous amounts of well-rotted manure or garden compost. When cultivating clematis in patio containers, opt for a soil-based compost like John Innes No. 3.
Guide your clematis along a suitable support structure such as a trellis, wires, or a freestanding climbing frame. Provide frequent feeding and watering throughout the growing season. This particular clematis variety blooms in late summer on the current year's growth. Pruning should be carried out in spring, just before the onset of active growth. For group 3 Clematis, prune all of the previous year's stems back to a pair of healthy buds, roughly 20cm above ground level. In spring, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost around the plant's base to shield the roots and retain soil moisture.
Product Specifications: Height up to 800cm, spread up to 400cm. Position in sun or partial shade. Flowering period: July to October. Images are for illustrative purposes only, depicting expected results upon maturity. Varying growing conditions may influence results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonal changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
