This delightful dwarf variety boasts an exceptional flowering display. Its compact nature makes it ideally suited for container growing, hanging baskets, and window boxes, but it also performs beautifully at the front of a border. The charming yellow blooms will create a radiant mass above the green foliage, producing a gently cascading effect.
For best results, choose a location in sun or semi-shade and plant deeply in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Clematis thrives when planted in improved soils enriched with well-rotted manure or garden compost. When planting clematis in patio containers, use a soil-based compost such as John Innes No. 3. This particular clematis flowers in late summer on the current year's growth. Prune in spring before new growth begins, cutting back all of the previous year's stems to a pair of healthy buds approximately 10-20cm above ground level. In spring, apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost around the base of the plant to protect the roots and maintain soil moisture.
