Product Information

  • Offers glossy evergreen citrus foliage
  • Produces fragrant waxy spring blossom
  • Yields edible limes in 1 year

Enjoy the beauty and aroma of your own miniature lime tree. Its glossy, evergreen leaves create an attractive backdrop for the fragrant, waxy blossoms that appear in spring. Perfectly suited for a conservatory or a bright windowsill, this lime tree can also flourish outdoors on a warm patio during the summer months.
The citrus fruits can take up to a year to fully mature, offering the delightful reward of homegrown limes, rich in vitamin C. Perfect for juices, jams, and chutneys, these limes are a fantastic addition to your culinary creations for cooking and baking. Alternatively, freeze the whole fruit for a unique, citrusy ice cube. Beyond their culinary uses, the attractive fruits also provide an ornamental display.
Plant your lime tree in a container or pot, using a blend of ericaceous compost and a neutral, soil-based compost like John Innes No. 3. When repotting, maintain the original soil level and ensure the plant is firmly settled in its new container. Water generously and place in a well-lit location, away from cold draughts and radiators (ideally between 4-12°C). A conservatory provides the perfect environment. Once the threat of frost has passed, usually from May to October, the tree can be moved outdoors.
During the summer, water freely and mist the leaves daily to maintain humidity and deter pests. Feed with a citrus plant fertiliser every two weeks. Before the onset of frosts, move the plant back indoors. Reduce watering in winter, but ensure the plant does not dry out completely. Be aware that both overwatering and underwatering can cause the fruits to drop.
Position: Full Sun or Partial Shade.
Height if unrestricted: 1.5m.

Supplied in a 9cm Nursery Pot.
