Product Information

  • Grow your own juicy lemons at home
  • Ideal for pots, patios or conservatories
  • Supplied as 2 plants in 9cm nursery pots

Bring the allure of the Mediterranean to your garden with these sun-loving citrus trees. While they appreciate some winter protection, the reward is the delightful taste of homegrown, vitamin C-rich lemons. These fruits take around a year to mature, offering a versatile harvest for juices, jams, chutneys, or even freezing whole for a citrusy ice cube alternative. Don't forget the zest, a wonderful addition to both cooking and baking.
Beyond their culinary uses, these ellipsoidal yellow fruits are visually appealing, making them a lovely ornamental feature. Plant them in a container or pot, using a blend of ericaceous compost and a neutral, soil-based option like John Innes No. 3. When repotting, maintain the original soil level and ensure the plant is firmly settled in its new container.
Water generously and position in a well-lit spot, shielded from cold draughts and radiators – a conservatory is ideal (4-12°C). Once the threat of frost has passed, typically from May to October, the plants can be moved outdoors. During summer, water freely and mist the leaves daily to boost humidity and deter pests. Feed every two weeks with citrus plant fertiliser.
Before the first frosts arrive, bring the plants back indoors. Reduce watering during winter, but avoid letting the plant dry out completely. Be mindful that both overwatering and underwatering can cause fruit drop.
